CCKS members and friends had a fun and amazing experience at the 2025 Koi Appreciation Day hosted by Champion Nishikigoi!
About 25 CCKS members rented a party van and drove themselves to meet at the annual event held at the Champion Nishikigoi koi shop in San Jose, CA. On the way back, we packed every inch of space in the van with our new koi, koi food, and products!!
CCKS members had a great time at the Champion Nishikigoi Koi Appreciation Day viewing and buying beautiful koi from well-known Japanese koi farms. The koi were competitively priced so all hobbyists could find great koi that fit their budget.
The hospitality of Tom Lai and his family brought a positive energy that makes our koi community stronger! We enjoyed meeting new koi kichi friends and laughing with long-time friends and hobbyists.
Guests enjoyed a delicious lunch, silent auction, and special pricing on koi, koi food, and koi products. Champion Koi generously donated the proceeds of the silent auction to the NorCal and CCKS koi clubs!! Outstanding!
For some members, it was their first time attending and they felt very welcomed. Tom Lai and his family graciously helped guests select koi.
Members were teaching and learning from each other…helping to select koi, observing how others critique and select koi. Erwin Santos was busy all day too, being called over by other CCKS members and friends to get his opinion on koi.
Many members and guests saw koi varieties and learned about koi farms that were new to them.
We estimate our group took home over 40 beautiful new koi!!
